Hair Restoration with PRP
One of the most common problems I have treated over the past decade is thinning hair in "women of a certain age". Genetics, hormones, toxins, stress, and other factors can result in significant hair loss. In the past, I have used a combination of omega3s, vitamins, collagen, and hormones to treat hair loss. While often successful, most patients respond slowly and incompletely.
Over the past few years, a new therapy for hair restoration has emerged that is simply a game changer. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections have been shown in numerous scientific studies to stimulate significant hair growth in women with thinning hair.
In the PRP procedure, your own blood is collected and a fraction rich in platelets (clot-producing cells) is harvested. Those platelets are then injected into the scalp with a fine needle in the affected areas. The scalp is numbed prior to the procedure with a topical anesthetic. The entire procedure takes about an hour. Three monthly treatments are ideal for women.
Here are some typical results:
Men can also be treated, but may not respond as well and usually require more treatments.
